Musings of a Winter Day

As I am sitting here all warm and comfortable in my home, I thank God for my many, many blessings.

Back in November, just before Thanksgiving, I had laryngitis for a week.  Since then, I have had a chronic cough and runny nose.  I have taken tons of over the counter meds along with the traditional natural concoctions but nothing has seemed to help for any period of time.  I carried Pierson to the doctor last week for a cold and while there was given a steroid rx.  Still not any better so this past Wednesday I went to visit our hometown Doctor at Moore Medical Clinic.  I was diagnosed positive for Type A flu and given Tamiflu.  The main thing that is bothering me now is the coughing and headache and fatigue.  I am very fortunate and blessed that I am able to stay at home and not have to go to work for the public.

Casey went to Nash's Cafe and got us each a fish plate for lunch today.  It was very good and I know our community is thankful to have a place to go and sit and eat a hot meal or take something good home to eat without having to leave town.  Best wishes for lots of success to Scotty and Judy!

I haven't seen my grandchildren since our Christmas celebration this past Saturday.  I sure do miss them and had planned to keep them this week while they were out of school, but they have definitely not needed to be around me this week with the flu.  I am thankful that Brandy's Mom, Kim, has been able to take care of them this week and I must say that I envy her this pleasure....she's been having all the fun!

I am blessed to have a wonderful group of ladies that have committed to weekly Bible Study meetings with me.  We met in October and November but took a break during the month of December to focus on our families and the holidays.  We will be starting back up in January and I have to say that I sure have missed these times of fellowship and have come to realize that I "need" these times of fellowship with these women.  God wants us to meet together with others to study His word and share in His love.

And last, but certainly not least, I would like to invite you to join me on a journey beginning on January 1, 2018.  I have started following a blog by Shannon who has the page @SweetBlessingsblog on Facebook and you should really go and check out her page for some great Godly inspiration.  She has created some monthly Bible scripture writing plans that are just amazing.  I have her permission to share one of her reading plans with you entitled Friendship Scripture Writing Plan.
